Nuclear electricity has a very low fossil footprint and is a stable and weather-independent power source. We are now looking for a confident and committed Unit Manager for Construction Maintenance who wants to take responsibility for both people and technology in a business of great importance.

About us

The Building Maintenance Unit is responsible for ensuring that our buildings, structures and plant components are in good condition - both from a safety, functional and health and safety point of view. The unit has recently undergone a reorganization and now consists of three teams with new team leaders. In total, the unit comprises approximately 30 employees and hired contractors.

The unit is in a development phase with a new team structure and leadership, which gives you an important role in shaping the team, building up the management team and creating a stable and collaborative work environment.

About the role

As Unit Manager for Construction Maintenance at Forsmark, you will have overall responsibility for the unit. You will manage three team leaders and one staff member, and be part of the maintenance department's management team where you contribute to joint development and long-term planning. The role involves both operational leadership and strategic work.

Your main tasks

- Lead and support the team leaders in their daily work

- Create a collaborative, solution-oriented and safe culture

- Ensure that building maintenance is carried out according to routines, regulations and safety requirements

- Plan staffing and skills supply in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

- Contribute to strategic improvement work in the management team

- Follow up and develop cooperation with contractors and suppliers

About you

We are looking for you who have several years of experience as a manager, preferably in industry, technology or other socially critical activities. You are confident in your leadership, have the ability to build strong teams and are present in everyday life. You are courageous and persistent - you don't give up when the going gets tough, but seek solutions and get through. You have a genuine interest in improvement work, and you thrive on creating commitment and direction in an evolving organization.

To succeed in the role, we look for you to have:

- Experience in nuclear operations

- Experience in change management and entrepreneurial collaboration

- Ability to build trust, commitment and good relationships

- A solution-focused and inclusive leadership

We also offer work buses with wireless network on the Gävle-Forsmark and Uppsala-Forsmark routes, which gives you the opportunity to use the travel time as working time if/when work allows. You also have the opportunity to use our remote workplaces in Gävle and Uppsala or work from home if/when work allows.
