Vattenfall Eldistribution is looking for a Head of Department for Operational Planning Regional Network

We are in an expansive phase and are now strengthening our operations in operational planning. Society's increased demand for access to electricity means that our electricity networks are becoming increasingly complex to operate. As investments increase, we need to handle more work while minimizing customer outages and risks in the network.

Operational planning Regionnät is responsible for planning in both the long and short term with a focus on electrical safety and minimizing outage times. The work includes network calculations and the preparation and distribution of operating orders. The department currently consists of about 12 employees located in Trollhättan and is part of the Operations Planning unit, which includes five departments - four for local and regional networks and one for operational monitoring systems.

As head of department, you lead the work together with your colleague in the other regional network department. You are responsible for inspiring and engaging employees, ensuring that set goals are achieved and actively contributing to the development of the company and the unit. You are part of the management team for Operations Planning and work at the intersection of technology, people and society - an environment where you thrive on managing complex challenges and creating value for both customers and the organization.

We are looking for you who have experience in electricity network operations and previous managerial roles with personnel responsibility. You have good communication skills, are confident in handling questions from various partners and are used to presenting reports and decision-making documents in both Swedish and English. You are a leader who sees each employee, values cooperation and is driven by developing both people and working methods.

Example of tasks.

  • Lead and drive the operational work and participate in the tactical and strategic work at the unit level
  • Communicate outage information to customers and stakeholders (society and internally)
  • Optimize outages and plan work in the network without customer outages
  • Assist within and outside the unit with knowledge of how operational reliability and availability in the network are maintained
  • Drives, supports and resources the daily management of the unit and its sister department
  • Resource with operational knowledge in development work within the company

Requirement specification

To succeed in the role, we see that you have documented good experience of putting the qualities and abilities we are looking for into practice. This means that through previous positions you can show concrete results where you have led, inspired and engaged employees, contributed to business development and successfully managed change. We value examples where your communicative and pedagogical strength, your ability to collaborate and your courage to drive and test new ways of working have been crucial to positive outcomes.

Requirements.

  • Experience of working in technical electricity network operations
  • You have an education in technology, for example as an engineer, or equivalent work experience that gives you the right conditions to succeed in the role.
  • Several years of documented leadership experience from previous management positions
  • Strong communication skills both in writing and orally
  • Comfortable with presenting and reporting in Swedish and English

Advantageous.

  • Experience of working in a management team
  • Experience of change work and development of working methods
