About us
The Radiological Support Group (NSRS) at Ringhals provides specialist and key expertise in radiophysics, radiochemistry, dosimetry and radiation protection. We work with issues concerning the entire Ringhals organization, both towards operation and decommissioning. We handle official matters in the field and participate in both national and international cooperation forums. We staff and form an important part of the Radiation Protection Expert function at Ringhals, a function required by the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, which consists of employees approved by the authority.
We also teach and are responsible for training in radiation protection and radiology and are part of Ringhals accident preparedness organization where we are responsible for staffing and training various radiology roles.

About the job
As a radiophysicist at NSRS, practical, analytical, strategic and administrative tasks are included that can span several areas; emission monitoring and emission analysis, ambient radiology and personal dosimetry, radiation shielding calculations and source term assessments, qualified nuclide-specific measurements, analysis and reporting of radioactive substances in reactor systems or execution, analysis and quality assurance of waste and clearance measurements.
As a qualified radiophysicist, the responsibilities are mainly analytical and strategic tasks in the areas of the activities. Reviewing, referring, interpreting and implementing external requirements and regulations is an important part of the work, which includes tasks that involve checking and ensuring correct application in Ringhals operations. As a qualified radiophysicist, demands are placed on the ability to lead, make strategic decisions and to translate these into operations.

Requirements specification
About you
We are looking for you who have a degree in hospital physics or a master's, master or doctoral degree in physics with a specialization in nuclear physics/radiophysics. Experience from the nuclear power industry is an advantage. We consider it a big plus if you have practical and analytical experience of gamma spectrometry, have worked with interpreting requirements from, for example, the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, and have experience of other analytical tasks related to radiation safety. For the position of qualified radiophysicist, several years of experience and work in the role of radiophysicist, hospital physicist or equivalent is required.
Since you will be working in a Swedish context, it is important that you speak and write fluently in Swedish. You should also have a very good knowledge of English. As a person, you plan, organize and prioritize work in an efficient way, and ensure that deadlines are met. You take initiative, initiate activities and strive to achieve results. You work well with complex issues, have the ability to analyze and break them down into their components, and solve complicated problems.
