Vestre Toten Municipality is seeking healthcare workers and others with relevant healthcare expertise for the Gimletun and Gimlevegen assisted living facilities

About the Workplace

Gimletun and Gimlevegen Care Homes are located in Bøverbru and consist of 17 and 18 round-the-clock staffed care apartments, respectively. We offer services to people with dementia and other cognitive impairments, with a focus on person-centered care, safety, and quality of life

Among other things, we participate in SAM AKS (collaboration with Innlandet Hospital), NOKLUS, and work systematically on quality improvement and holistic patient care pathways.

We have the following permanent positions available starting in the fall of 2026

  • 100% healthcare assistant position, currently every other weekend and every 3 weeks
  • 80% healthcare assistant position, currently 12 hours every 4 weekends
  • 50% healthcare assistant position, every other weekend.
  • 65% healthcare assistant position, currently 12 hours every 4 weekends
  • 67.14% night shift healthcare assistant position, every 3 weekends

Other percentage positions may become available due to internal promotions

In addition, there are vacant weekend positions with various percentage rates

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide and document care and support for our clients.
  • Develop and follow up on care plans
  • Handle primary contact duties and responsibilities, including meetings with family members and assessments.
  • Contribute to activities and a meaningful daily life for residents
  • Collaborate with residents, family members/guardians, and other professional groups
  • Participate in professional development and quality improvement
  • Mentor students, apprentices, and colleagues as needed
  • Collaborate with volunteers
  • Be on duty for fire safety
  • Be proficient in relevant computer systems; we use, among others, Gerica (patient record system), Gat (scheduling system), and Compilo (quality system

Qualifications

  • License as a healthcare assistant or other relevant healthcare education.
  • Experience working with the target group is preferred
  • Applicants from outside Scandinavia must demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken Norwegian by passing a B2-level Norwegian test
  • A valid police clearance certificate must be submitted upon hire

  • Personal suitability is particularly emphasized, and a commitment to the user group is a prerequisite
  • You must have good communication and collaboration skills
  • Good Norwegian communication skills—both oral and written
  • You must be able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Openness, reliability, and loyalty are valued
  • You must have a solution-oriented approach to the challenges of the job
