We’re looking for a visionary leader to join us as our next Global Supply Chain Manager for the newly established Supply Chain department within GI MACH. In this role, you will lead a diverse global team, including Category Managers, Specialists, and Buyers, and be responsible for developing and executing strategic category plans that ensure our units receive the right materials at the right time, quality, and cost. You’ll leverage supplier management, negotiations, and contract execution to drive performance, while fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.

As part of the global HVDC Supply Chain Management team, you’ll report directly to the Global Head of Supply Chain and play a key role in shaping the future of our supply chain operations.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Develop long-term strategies for key material categories within electronics manufacturing.
  • Manage supplier-related spend of approximately 200 MUSD.
  • Lead sourcing activities including market analysis, category strategy, and value chain analysis.
  • Build trust-based partnerships with suppliers to enhance quality and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate across departments to align category activities with business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement using the CIPS methodology.
  • Lead price negotiations and monitor cost-saving initiatives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teamwork to identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Champion Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety, integrity, and accountability – caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and strategic sourcing.
  • Proven leadership experience with a collaborative and empowering approach.
  • Strong analytical skills, clear communication, and a hands-on mindset.
  • Experience in data analysis and forecasting.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Comfortable working in diverse, multicultural environments.
  • Fluent in English at a professional level; additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20–30%.
