The Opportunity

HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.

We are now hiring a Process & Transformation Lead: Quality Operations to HVDC Sweden, a business line within Hitachi Energy. In this position you have a key role in the organization by driving transformation initiatives within Quality Operations (QO). You will improve and maintain tender & project quality processes in addition to supporting the Q&CI Manager with operative support to the teams under Operations. You will have the opportunity to work both operational and strategic, as well as interacting with different internal and external stakeholders within the business. You will report to the Global Tender & Project Quality Manager and be part of the QO Management Team.

How you’ll make an impact

The role of the Process & Transformation Lead is split into two main areas: Process & Transformation Lead: Tender & Project Quality and Q&CI Specialist: Operations

Process & Transformation Lead: Tender & Project Quality

  • Lead and drive the Project and Tender quality organization in continuously improving process framework, processes and instructions
  • Identify important interfaces and actively drive cooperation and management of the interdependencies
  • Communicate updates and changes to the team, educate during onboarding and as needed during project lifecycle
  • Facilitate and govern QO process forums and represent the functions in any required process forums
  • Oversee and drive strategic initiatives aimed at transforming the department

Q&CI Specialist: Operations

  • Provide training, coaching, and learning in HVDC Quality & CI processes & tools as well as L6S-methodology
  • Govern (gate keep) and follow up status with process owners / leaders with respect to deviations in QIT, CCRP & top-quality issues.
  • Track trends on deviations from an overall Operations perspective and identify together with the process's possible improvement activities to address repetitive issues, customer feedback and high COPQ
  • Follow up & suggest actions on Quality KPIs and targets with respective process owners
  • Act as support to departments within Operations to coach and guide on various quality & CI topics

Your background

  • Technical / engineering / Quality management education – minimum bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3+ years professional experience related to Q&CI and EPC Project based environments
  • Power or energy industry experience
  • Possesses good leadership skills and experience in large, global and complex organizations
  • Experience in process management ideally in the project business, preferably in the energy or automation industry, or other quality and process-oriented industries
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Capacity to communicate, result oriented, speed in execution, openness and listen to others
  • English fluency (written + spoken), other languages advantageous.
