Materials Testing is one of SSAB's laboratories and is responsible for testing the mechanical properties of all our products before delivery to our customers. It employs 35 people and operates around the clock in modern premises with automated equipment for sample preparation and testing. Quality work is an important part and the laboratory is accredited according to SS-EN ISO 17025.

Your main responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and quality assuring certificates and certificates linked to our material testing.
  • Assess and analyze test results in relation to applicable standards and customer requirements.
  • Act as a contact person between the materials testing and the IT department in matters relating to system support and digital processes.
  • Contribute to developing and streamlining our working methods and processes in materials testing.
  • You will also be a support in our work environment work, which means leading investigations, initiating safety rounds and risk analyzes.

About you

  • Basic knowledge in materials science or similar technical background.
  • Good understanding of industrial processes, preferably with insight into how SSAB works.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical specialists and IT staff.
  • Good flexibility and ability to solve problems.
  • Advantageous
  • Experience from material testing with emphasis on tensile, impact, bending and hardness testing
  • Experience from working with certificates, attestations and quality documentation.
  • Experience from quality work at an accredited laboratory according to SS-EN ISO/IEC 17025.
