The Opportunity

As a Transportation and Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the transportation and logistics process. This includes defining requirements and selecting preferred suppliers, along with other related steps within the procurement process.

You will establish budgets for both procurements and project implementation as well as oversee the shipment of heavy transport weighing up to 500 tons.

You will ensure the feasibility and route investigations for intermodal heavy transport within the Swedish market. This role operates within a fast-paced global environment and involves extensive interaction with internal teams, the traffic authority and freight carriers.

As such, you will act as a key link and coordinator between all stakeholders.

The position involves routine tasks, problem solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities are to act as a Project Transportation Specialist in Transportation, Trade and Logistics, ensuring compliance with KPIs related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, innovation and sustainability.

Your responsibilities

  • Proactively support project and logistics planners, and address transportation challenges with suppliers.
  • Develop, plan and implement transportation and logistics strategies, focusing on creating the overall transportation budget for tenders, optimizing transportation portfolios, costs and quality, while minimizing risks.
  • Oversee transportation logistics for the Swedish market, including feasibility studies, budgeting, planning, sourcing, contracting and negotiation.
  • Evaluate road surveys, storage areas, port capacities and technical solutions for efficient loading and lifting plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate risks and interact with stakeholders during tendering and project implementation.
  • Coordinate and plan permit applications and route analysis.
  • Manage both rail and road transport logistics.

Your background

  • Extensive experience in transport, freight and heavy transport (at least 150 tons). Including experience in customs and quotation for transport.
  • Experience with authorities is meritorious.
  • Expertise in rail and road transport logistics.
  • Fluent in English and Swedish; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a multicultural, global business environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Energy, curiosity and self-confidence, with a drive for continuous improvement.
